Hello there. I want to start up a local christian group at school that I feel can take off. We have a group that is called FOCAS (Fellowship Of Christian Athletes & Students). I don't feel they do enough to help the local community. We should be doing more as a group. Unfortunately, The group only meets about once a month, and just watches movies and talks about fun things to do. I think we should be scheduling one day VBS's and stuff. Does anyone have any Ideas on how I can start a group, or influence the group that has already been started to get MORE involved!

Youth Alive has been the best thing that's happened to me in the past couple months. It's an awesome club that I try to use to really challenge myself and other Christians to step up to the plate and REALLY BE CHRISTIANS! www.yausa.com, great place to look stuff up, it'll have a lot of resources and ideas for that kind of thing. Hope it helps!!!

first i would start by asking the group if they would consider meeting 2x a month. Meet once to do what you already do, and meet the next time to do a school cleanup or something like that. This way (if it works out) you dont have to start from the ground up. If not, make your own. If it should come to that there are many resources available from Youthalive( as already stated by MarisaR). hope this helps
I think you should talk to the group that has already been fromed about it.Then pray and fast and this decision because in everything that you do you want to have Jesus's hand over it.
Hey Our school has the same exzact thing "Focus" we meet every friday and we have someone diffrent lead everyweek. Ask if the group could do a cand food drive or something like that or a carwash??? Get involved in the community.
hope that helps
